Number 99 for the Seattle Sounders, Andy Craven is a forward. He was born on January 21, 1992 and is from St. Simons Island, Georgia. Craven is 5’11 and weighs 167 pounds. As a newbie on the team, Craven has only played three games in the league so far, with no goals scored yet. He has played a total of 67 minutes on the field so far.

Craven was promoted play with the Sounders First Team Squad on June 27, 2015. He was the 48th selection of the third round during the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. Sounders FC General Manager and President of Soccer Garth Lagerwey says that he has played so well with S2 that he should get a shot at playing with the First Team. He also said that Craven is an example of how the S2 works: to inspire players to work hard and be rewarded with a spot on First Team.

Injured in July 2015, Craven was placed on the disabled players list, opening a spot for a replacement during the late summer. The injury list at the time also included Andres Correa. The injury, an MLS sprain, occurred on July 17.

Craven went to school at Glynn Academy in Brunswick, Georgia. While in school, he went NSCAA All-American twice.

During his youth career, Craven played for the North Carolina Tar Heels from 2012-2014. During his time with the team, he scored 21 goals and made 11 assists, but he sat out during the 2013 season due to an injury. He was also a finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy. Following his membership with the Tar Heels, he went on to play for the College of Charleston Cougars during the 2010-2011 season. Next he became a member of the IMG Academy from 2007-2009. During the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup, Craven was a member of the US under 17 national team. He also made the NSCAA All-America First Team and All-ACC First Team honors as well as the Soccer News Net College Boot as Player of the Year.

Moving on to his senior appearances, Craven first joined Chicago Fire U-23 in 2011. Then he played for Orange County Blue Star in 2012 before being picked up by the Seattle Sounders FC 2 in 2015.

Craven is known for his long hair and can be found on Twitter, where he says he likes “donuts, teriyaki, cartrucks, and of course my girl Tayzer.” He also enjoys haunted mazes and The Walking Dead.
