2016 Opener Announced
Sounders SC vs. Kansas City

Ready to paint your new 2016 calendar in Rave Green? The 2016 opener date was just announced. For the 8th year in a row, the Sounders will be starting its Major Soccer League season at home at the CenturyLink Field. The game will be held on March 6 at 4:00 PM PST. The opponent? Sporting Kansas City. It should be an incredible game to start off the season, and if Sigi Schmid has anything to say, whatever team that visits Seattle is sure to get a good fight with all of the new, young blood springing up in the roster. In 20014, they beat Kansas City 1-0; will 2016 prove that history repeats itself? So far, the team’s record with Kansas City is 7-2-3.

Season tickets are already on sale. Current rates are as low as $24 per game when you purchase a season ticket. When you purchase season tickets, you get all 17 matches plus 2 bonus matches. All of your membership benefits are automatically renewed for you each year after you make your initial purchase unless you cancel. That ensures that fans not only get to keep their seats, but they also do not miss out on playoff tickets by purchasing them too late.

Season tickets are available in two ways: a full payoff option and a 50/50 option, giving fans more time to purchase their tickets while still reserving their spots. When paid in full, season tickets run for $446.50 per year. The 50/50 option consists of one payment of $224 now and the rest of the amount on January 4, splitting the payment in half. A $15 processing fee may also be charged for each account. Keep in mind that better seats will cost more, and that prices include stadium fees and taxes as well.

Some additional season ticket benefits include a member scarf, rewards and discounts, auto-renewal and much more. Season tickets are also sold at a discount to normal game tickets due to their bulk sales. Get them online at the Sounders site or call 877-MLS-GOAL. Look online to choose your seats and keep in mind that you cannot leave an empty seat when you purchase multiple seats together.

Can’t make the game? Be sure to catch it on FS1 Telecast. The Sounders will surely do even better when broadcast on live TV. It’s the sixth time in eight years of opening games that they will be broadcast live.
