Spanish league transfer rumors
What's real, what makes sense

The summer transfer window in soccer still has more than 30 days of life and thus, more than 30 days worth of speculation and rumors. It can be somewhat overwhelming to hear about the moves your favorite team may or may not make, where your favorite player may end up, and sometimes you just want to fast forward to September 1 and see how things shake out.

However, it is pretty fun to go through and decipher which rumors have merit, and which ones are just straight b.s. as they pertain to various teams in La Liga.

Sevilla

French attacker Kevin Gameiro has really sprung onto the scene the past couple of seasons in Andalucia. He has spearheaded Sevilla's attack and is arguably their best player since Alvaro Negredo left the sunny south for the rain and gray of Manchester City. As such, he has been the target for many clubs looking to pry him away from a mid-tier Spanish club like Sevilla.

Two of Spain's biggest clubs have been rumored to show the most interest, with Marca reporting that Atlético Madrid and Barcelona are keeping eyes on Gameiro. His buyout clause in 40 million euros, which would seem high for both club. At Barça he would likely be an Arda Turan type, a 12th man for Luis Enrique. In Madrid he likely would be behind Griezmann, although he likely could overtake Fernando Torres. The challenge with Atleti though is that 40 million euro fee. Los rojiblancos have never been ones to throw that kind of money around, and probably won't this time either.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid is always at the center of rumors this time of year, although this summer they are seen more as sellers than buyers. As is custom, they have a stable to top talent, with some of the best players in the world warming their bench on occasion. Among the two best are Isco and James Rodriguez. Both failed to impress new coach Zinedine Zidane this past year, and both would benefit from a move to another team where they could get on the pitch regularly.

James showed in the Copa America he still has a knack for goals, and Isco has shown in flashes at Madrid that he can be one of the best in the world. Both would do well with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal rumored to be a possible landing spot for Isco.

James said last week that he rejected a couple offers to move, which seems like an odd move. Both are too talented to stay on the bench, and should be gone by the end of the offseason. Likely for a hefty fee.
