Atlético Madrid may not be losing, but they are leaving precious points on the table to begin the season, even after spending big to bring in shiny new reinforcements. Every point matters especially in a league where you're competing with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona, both clubs that are expected to take three points every match, unless they are playing each other.

That's why there's reason for concern for the club on the Mazanares, even if the season has not even finished its second week. However when one looks closer at the teams they are drawing against, concern can turn into panic. Despite Simeone's calls for "calm."

Last weekend they opened up with a 1-1 tie against Alaves, hardly a worldbeater and what's worse is that it came at home. This week they played somewhat of a road game, driving maybe 20 minutes south to play newly promoted Primera División side Leganes. It seems that los rojiblancos may be suffering from a prolonged hangover after last May's defeat to city rivals Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

On the other hand, the victorious team in that match up couldn't ask for a better start to their season, moving to the top of the table after two wins out of the gate. In their home opener Saturday against Celta Vigo, they won 2-1 doing so without Cristiano Ronaldo, Keylor Navas nor Karim Benzema in the lineup for the second straight match. 

The Spanish giants have seen other players step up in their absence such as youngster Marco Asensio. The 20-year-old scored a goal in their first match, and nearly had another one that the goal keeper had to swat away. Alvaro Morata showed why Madrid was so keen to bring him back, opening the scoring after an hour long scoreless deadlock.

Visitors Celta Vigo were able to tie the game later and it looked as if it would end in a draw, as the Galicians were stout in defense. Although German international Toni Kroos had something to say about that, scoring the winning goal in the 82nd minute.

Off the field, Isco seems like he's headed for London as Tottenham have been reported to have secured a season long loan for the 24-year-old midfielder. It should be a good move for Isco, a talented player who unfortunately didn't fit in with Zinedine Zidane's new scheme. His strength is with the ball at his feet, advancing it and cutting through defenses, which should translate well to a faster paced Primer League.
