Later than usual, but still here.
AAA -- Tacoma 1, Fresno 0 -- Box
All eyes were on this game, which was the AAA debut of Taijuan Walker (Talk40 #2). Yeah, I think he did OK.
6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 4 K
As has been noted, events have conspired to put all of the "Next Five" at Tacoma now. Danny Hultzen (Talk40 #4) is next up.
It's also old news by now that Dustin Ackley was recalled to Seattle to replace Franklin Gutierrez, who returned to his most common locale -- the diabled list.
The offense didn't do much in the pitchers' duel, but Brad Miller (Talk40 #6) extended his hitting streak to 20 games.
AA -- Tennessee 7, Jackson 6 [14 innings] -- Box
After scoring plenty in regulation, both teams kept putting up goose eggs in extra innings, until the Smokies finally brought in the game-winner in the bottom of the 14th.
Our man Ji-Man Choi (Talk40 #19) finally got some non-HR hits (a double and a single), plus a walk.
Looks like Choi and D.J. Peterson are on a collision course.
The bullpen delivered 8.1 scoreless innings until Andrew Kittredge (Watch List) gave up the decisive score.
High-A -- High Desert 4, Lake Elsinore 3 -- Box
It was Pow! Pow! Paolini! Daniel Paolini (Talk40 #26) tied the game at 3-3 with a two-run blast (his 11th).
The winning run came after a double from Anthony Phillips.
Dominic Leone (Talk40 #25) went the final 1.2 IP for his 9th save. Leone for Bullpen!

What's Your Vector, Victor? On course, but short: 3.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 K.
The pride of Ewa Beach, Charles Kaalekahi (26intheMix), got the win in relief (4.0 IP, 0 R).
And ... Hail Columbia! Dario Pizzano (26intheMix) had the winning blow with a two-run shot (his 4th).
Short Season-A -- Everett 5, Tri-City 2 -- Box
All of the Aqua Sox scoring came in the 7th. James Zamarripa (Watch List) got a two-RBI single and then stole both second and third before scoring on an error. Jamodrick McGruder (26intheMix) delivered a triple immediately after.
Jose Valdivia (Watch List) contributed 3.0 IP of crucial relief to pick up a save.
Rookie -- Pulaski 7, Bluefield 1 -- Box
Apparently whatever Edwin Diaz (Talk40 #36) has been working on has started to "click."
The lanky teen righty turned in his second consecutive strong start: 5.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K. ERA still 0.00.
And his offensive support came from a new name who was batting ninth.
Curacao native Raysheron Michel went 3-for-3 with a double and a home run. The 20-year-old is a switch-hitting outfielder.
AZL Rookie -- Rangers 3, Mariners 2 [10 innings] -- Box
The heated AL West rivalry had to go an extra frame to get resolved.
Venezuelan outfielder Alexy Palma had a double and a walk.
Looking Ahead
Tacoma is off. Man-child lefty Luiz Gohara (Talk40 #21) gets his second start for Pulaski.
