There are center fielders who hit a lot of home runs and center fielders who don’t. Austin Jackson is in the second category.
But among that group he is right in the pack with Coco Crisp, Jacoby Ellsbury, Dexter Fowler, Desmond Jennings and the bunch. But cheaper (than most).

- the drop-off from his 2012 peak/outlier season doesn’t seem to be decline as much as variation
- Jackson is a guy (even though right-handed) who seems capable of running an above-average BABIP
