Think you know where to find the latest, freshest Seattle Thunderbirds news? If you are not following the Birds on Facebook, you must be mistaken. When you follow the Birds’ page by “liking” it on Facebook, you will receive up-to-date announcements, including by the hour Thunderbird news. Coach Konowalchuk is talking on a radio show? The page covers it. The Birds are hosting a special fundraiser or other event? You’ll find it there. It’s an absolute must-follow on Facebook.

Follow the page for sports interviews, photos, game recaps and much more. You can also use the page’s apps for more T-Birds fun and usefulness. Take a fun quiz about your favorite hockey team. Buy tickets for the next game without even leaving the social network. Breaking news like the big Metropolitans Jerseys reveal and the Thunderbirds being ranked at #9 in the BMO CHL top 10 list are also covered at the Facebook Page. It’s also the official page for the team, so you can rest assured that each update is a legit one that you can take seriously.

While the Facebook page encourages members of its community to share the photos, videos, news stories and other items across the social network, keep in mind that it also has a strict code of conduct. This includes citing your sources, not posting spam, keeping content family-friendly and other general rules that can be found on the page’s About section.

Not on Facebook? If you’re on Twitter, you can keep up with similar information at the team’s official Twitter page at @SeattleTBirds. If you Tweet at the team, you may just get a shout out for your support. It’s a good place to ask questions for quick replies, too, such as inquiries about specific polices at the ShoWare Center, season tickets, game information and promotion details. You can also see fun player highlight reels, particularly of Players of the Month, at the page. It’s also a good place to find the latest news quickly, as you will find all T-Bird related stories retweeted. Be sure to check out the Followers of the page to find like-minded T-Birds fans like yourself. You might be surprised at some of the big names you see following the page—especially athletic superstars who play other sports.
