"On the Chessboard lies and hypocrisy do not survive long. The creative combination lays bare the presumption of a lie; the merciless fact, culminating in a checkmate, contradicts the hypocrite.
And many a man, struck by injustice as, say, Socrates and Shakespeare were struck, has found justice realized on the Chessboard and has thereby recovered his courage and his vitality to continue to play the game of Life. - Lasker's Manual of Chess

=== Windup and Delivery ===
On Monday vs the Indians, Chance's pitching motion was full of lies and hypocrisy, though he did survive twelve pitches, six strikes and six balls, and three batted balls in the air.
Don't get us wrong. He's undoubtedly a good guy. But the sooner that his subconscious intention is directed towards killing the hitter, the sooner he'll start avoiding sports death himself. :- )
He has developed a fondness for a grotesque leg kick, one that robs him of trueness in the acceleration down the centerline. Here are the checkpoints in this grisly windup:
1. Pull the leg up while still extended and pointing to 3B.
1a. Commit the pitcher's worst sin, leaning back into vertigo, as you counter-balance your extended leg.
2. After the leg is up, bend the knee but point the cleats and lower leg at the CF.
3. Swing the lower leg in a pendulum motion toward the catcher, as though your big toe is the source of your power.
4. Follow your big toe towards the catcher.
Here is one video of the motion. You'll be able to perceive the lack of "trueness" better in real time.
