Flexen, Sewald, Steckenrider. Examine their stats, minor and major league, and ask yourself, HOW did the DiPoto Mariners find these guys?? DiPoto is the Mariners MVP How does he do it? in making trades, DiPoto fleeces no one. Jack Z used to say it's better as a GM NOT to fleece another GM because he'll stop trading with you. Jerry makes solid trades and might actually “lose” more often than he wins. I’d take Mikey Z over Fraley right now. St.Louis loves O’Neill and will love him for a few years at least. Marte is a top notch player. We’re talking three All Stars and all young. All teams -... Read More

Way back, in 1985, I created what is arguably the longest and oldest continuously running roto league in Seattle. We began back when Roger Clemens wasn't yet Roger Clemens, and in 2021 are still going strong. Younger generations have come in, and stay, or go. Old timers (OGs - original gangstas) have moved on, except for 3 of us, and a couple who, like Ronnie Wood of the Stones, deserve the title for their years of service. A couple have yet to win the title, but like the M's, hope springs eternal. One OG recruited his son, a preteen who in 2001 bought every available Mariner, because kids... Read More

The Mariners set a a Major League Record last night by beating the A's for the 11th straight time. No other team has won that m any consecutive games against a team that was at least 10:games above .500 in each game. Hope this works, because I can't find the delete button. Also, I never could get my photos cropped correctly.

Jerry DiPoto has done a stellar job assembling a pitching staff from spare parts. It took a big hit to the Farm system to get the ace (anyone see what Tyler O'Neill is doing this year?) but Marco has been our ace for, what...three years now? Added to that a Flexen and a resurgent Tyler Anderson. By resurgent, I mean there were whispers he lost something midseason and was relying on foreign substances. But the bullpen...what a magnificent job. We've seen Mariner GMs piece together workable bullpens from spare parts, but this...this is inspired. Steckenrider and Sewald were AAA flotsam nobody...
