See the Stranger Side of San Jose

The next time you and your special someone want to explore some of San Jose, try looking at the stranger side of the city. The RosicrucianPark and EgyptianMuseum is a great place to stop off if you’re interesting in some history. Wander the park and see everything that it has to offer. Or do something different and peruse the San Jose Flea Market. Most of what you’ll find there is junk, but you never know when something interesting might catch your eye.

.

Would Dr. D trade Nick Franklin "in the division"?  The A's seem :- ) to realize something nobody else does:

  • You can't teach EYE.  You acquire EYE.
  • Also, they need a middle infielder now.
  • Also, 2-3 WAR players at $450K are solid gold.
  • Also, 4-5 WAR players at club-controls are fairly nice.

So Nick "is a top target" for the A's.  Um, yeah.  Why wouldn't he be?  He's the quintessential Oakland A, right down to the beat-writer-irritating arrogance.

Put Some Time Aside for a Pittsburgh Picnic

A picnic is a great way to spend time with your loved one. It’s a classic and romantic opportunity to sit down, eat something that you prepared yourself and just enjoy a moment or two together. PointState Park is one place to check out when you want to picnic. It’s not huge, but the combination of scenery, trails and well-thought-out landscaping makes it beautiful. Or head to the much larger RiverviewPark.

First Basemen, a brief (and recent) history

The conversations with lr (and others) about DJ Peterson have been both intriguing and enlightening. I thought it time to talk about corner power and expectations a little more in depth, however - how do we know whether we should be enthusiastic or wary of DJ if we don't know whether his slash line/ wOBA is actually what we want to see from a corner slugger?
