The rice cooker is dead; long live the rice cooker

I live in a small cabin, with a galley kitchen. Space is at a premium, which means that most kitchen gadgets and appliances quickly lose the Darwinian struggle for counter space. But one of the most crucial appliances in my kitchen arsenal is the rice cooker. So much so that when my old rice cooker died last weekend, I bought a new one the very next day.

Video games are good for you?

There is plenty of talk that goes around from people opposed to video games, saying that certain games are going to make us violent or desensitize our youth to the evils of the world.  But score one for our side, because new studies are showing that video games are actually good for our health in certain ways.  It’s not just the fitness games like you might find on the Wii that they’re talking about either, but others, such as puzzle games and - gasp! - action games.

Baker was axed, via Twitter, whether the Condor could suffer in competition because of being away at the WBC.  His terse reply:  "Nope.  He's the starter in LF or RF"

It registers in Dr. D's molasses-slow mind that this gives us a starting lineup, including batting order, though Smoak's slot especially is in flux.  

We'll skip the trite and cliche'd caveats about things being set in stone.  We'll also skip the hackneyed caveats about spring training logic.  EVERYbody knows what the caveats are.
