Explore Austin’s Film Festival Scene

For lovers of film, there are few better ways to spend time with the one you love than to enjoy one of Austin’s film festivals. No matter what your taste in movies happens to be, there’s likely something that will please both you and your someone special. By far the biggest and the best is SXSW, a veritable buffet of movies as well as music and other media that takes place in March. Or if sci-fi and cult movies are your thing, check out Septembers’ Fantastic Fest.

A Casual Date Night in Austin

When it’s time for date night fun, don’t stress about making every little moment extravagant and expensive. If you just want to spend time with your special someone but don’t have the inclination to make it a big event, try doing something casual. Take a trip to Blue Starlite Drive-in, the city’s only remaining drive-in theater. A movie beneath the stars is a great way to spend the evening. Or if the weather is right, try going swimming at one of best spots around the city, such as Barton Springs Pool, Krause Springs or St. Edwards Park.
