Ozuna makes even more sense to me now - use him in RF normally, but in smaller parks against LH, move him to CF and put Cruz in RF with Guti in LF and Montero at DH. That covers Martin's weakness against LHers and keeps the OF athletic enough for just about anybody. Both Martin and Ozuna have some attitude issues to work out, but Bogar-Edgar-Cruz-Cano & Co. should get those in hand. Offer Elias and Flores (who is out of options) and see if #Miami will bite. Then go get Oh-Lowe-Sipp-Aardsma for the BP, Fister and Kuma for the rotation, Ianetta to partner with Zunino, and it might be quite competitive.

Blissed - muchas gracias very much for the primer on UW hoops. Any chance you could follow real quick with NBA comps for all of 'em, like you did with Isaiah Thomas 3?

Trading for a #9 hitter who doesn't walk and can't really hit much outside of #Texas is weird. I understand the defense part of the equation, but Wilhelmsen had a role and could fulfill it. Martin is exactly the kind of player that comes here as a marginal hitter with a bit of home park success and gets mulched by the Safe. He's a lefty, which should help, and has done all right as a visitor to Safeco, so maybe that will help also. He and Ketel have the same plate weaknesses, so hopefully our corner hitters all pull their weight. Whichever ones wind up staying or arriving, anyway. If we're gonna win with pitching and defense, we're putting a lot on Edgar to teach players how to actually hit with runners on base. Maybe he can go into the Hall as a hitting coach if he pulls that off...
