What movie took the top spot at the weekend box office?

This Labor Day weekend's box office battle pitted Oprah Winfrey against One Direction. This is something I never thought I'd write anywhere, ever, but it happened: Lee Daniels' The Butler and One Direction: This Is Us were neck and neck for several days over the four-day holiday, but ultimately, Oprah was the victor.

Badlands National Park

You’ve probably heard of the Badlands in South Dakota, but have you ever witness the extraordinary buttes that make up this vast array of stark beauty in the west? It’s also the home of the most endangered mammal in North America, the black-footed ferret. You can hunt for fossils, explore the rich history of Native Americans who live in the area, and simply marvel at the wonders of creation here at the park for fun and fellowship with your fellow Christian singles. Have you ever been to the Badlands of South Dakota? Tell us about how your visit went.

Big Bend National Park

Big Bend National Park is the largest protected area in the state of Texas. You and your fellow single friends can explore and view the wondrous array of nature found in the park, from 1200 plant species to 56 different types of reptiles. It’s one of the least visited parks in North America, however, so you should have plenty of room to explore with your group. You can get a tour of the river with a guide or take your own boat with a permit. Go backpacking, get a great view of the rock towers and explore the canyon on your trip. Have you ever visited Big Bend National Park before?

What to do with all those cherries

It's cherry season in North America, which means that stores are chock full of delicious cherries, and many of you have a cherry tree in the yard which is dropping fruit like crazy. (Not me, though - the birds eat all my cherries before I can get to them. Sad!) Because of the way cherry trees produce their fruit, cherries tend to hit the market in one big, short-lived flood, so you want to take advantage of them while they are here.

Suri vs Huacaya alpaca fiber

Once you get into spinning your own fiber, you find yourself faced with a lot of questions you never considered before. One of these is the question of the difference between Suri and Huacaya alpaca fiber. In commercial yarns they usually just call it "alpaca," but for the handspinning market the two kinds of fibers are typically sold separately. But which one should you choose?
