My proposal for a to-do list: Re-sign Iwakuma and Gutierrez, sign Mark Lowe and David Aardsma for the bullpen, and then sign Doug Fister for rotation depth. Then get a catcher that won't demand #1 status, but is capable if Zunino needs more time off. If the Astros wouldn't trade Hank Conger, I'd make a run at Avila if there is no QO, or perhaps Brayan Pena. I'd also trade for Sandy #Leon from the Red Sox, an excellent defensive catcher who hit in the minors, and let Edgar and Dan work with him as an alternative to #Sucre as #3.

My Dream Team: Dave Dombrowski for Chief Baseball Officer/President of Baseball Operations/COO (La Russa / Friedman role, with Mather remaining in Kasten-type CEO role), Larry Beinfest for GM and ExecVP, and Jim Beattie for AGM/Director of Player Development and Minor Leagues Director. Keep TomMac as Director of Amateur Scouting and keep Ted Simmons as a senior adviser and coordinator of coaching programs. Keep anyone else the top trio wants, including McClendon and his coaches for now.

Where Are They Now, dept.

.

Yoenis Cespedes - hitting .285 with a .485 SLG for the Tigers, with a plus defensive rating in LF . Fangraphs has him at 1.5 WAR so far, in a bit less than a third of a season.

Josh Donaldson - slugging .596 for the Jays, leaving his OPS+ at 167. Another eight homers and he'd be in Nelson Cruz territory. b-ref.com has him on pace for anywhere from 9 to 10 Wins Above Replacement.

Derek Norris - slugging .450 in San Diego as a catcher. His OPS+ the last three years, as he ages from 24 to 26: 110, 118, 115.

Brandon Moss - slugging a relatively pedestrian .442 in Cleveland.

Jeff Samardzija - somewhere else, still running Fisterly control ratios.

Addison Russell - hitting well in AAA (.318/.326/.477) at age 21.

Billy Beane - sitting on a 19-33 record, with absolutely nowhere to hide from last year's implosion out of a 72-44 record.

In all fairness, though, we notice that Oakland's offensive OPS+ is a tick higher in 2015 than in 2014. The crash looked spectacular, but Beane knew that he never had a 100-win quality team.

Some of Miami’s Top Caribbean Restaurants

Being so close to the Caribbean, it’s only natural that the city of Miami would have some of the best ethnic food around. For those looking to fill their bellies with some top-rated Caribbean cuisine, check out one of these three hot-spots. Ortanique on the Mile in Coral Gables is one such spot. They’re known for an excellent wine list, a great atmosphere and some of the most brilliant spicing techniques in the city. Or try Aunt I’s for a taste of Jamaica.
