Mamilla Hotel, Jerusalem

Jerusalem is one vacation destination that everyone should get a chance to see.  It can even be quite the romantic getaway for those that enjoy the culture and history.  The Mamilla Hotel is one way to see the city and its many attractions while not sacrificing a little luxury.  The building is designed in a contemporary style that is visually dazzling.  It is also considered by many to be the best luxury hotel in the entire city.  Couples can take some time out and enjoy relaxing in the gardens or on the terraces, taking in the amazin

The Czech Republic’s Church of Bones

This week I present yet another travel destination for those that enjoy their vacations with a slightly morbid touch.  This time around, it’s the Sedlec Ossuary, also known as the Church of Bones, a unique Roman Catholic church located in Sedlec, the Czech Republic.  About an hour outside of the capital of Prague, this strange and interesting church is decorated with the remains of more than 40,000 human beings.

Touring religious origins

Religious tourism, contrary to what the term may imply, is far from being reserved to those who are of a religious bent.  In fact, many of the great sites of the various world religions are also amazing sites to see for those of us that lead a more secular life.  While the majority of those visiting will certainly be of the related belief system, there’s no reason that the rest of us can’t visit as well.

The Holy Land Experience

While surfing about on the Internet for interesting things to write about, I came across what has to be the strangest themed amusement park I have ever seen in my life.  It’s called The Holy Land Experience (not to be confused with the defunct Holy Land USA in Connecticut) and no, it’s not a casino in Las Vegas.  It’s an Orlando, Florida amusement park that attempts to recreate the look and feel of Biblical Jerusalem, complete with Jesus-and God-themed attractions and presentations.
