Wood Sprite is out gathering acorns this morning as I write this. We had the electric company come out to cut down some limbs yesterday from our old oak tree, and she is ecstatic over the branch. She has some cool ideas for her acorns, and I know I want to make some little jack-o-lanterns and colored acorn caps again this year. And here’s another acorn activity.
Until recently, there was only one recorded instance of a healthy six-legged octopus on record. This so-called "hexapus" is the result of a rare mutation which leaves the octopus with only six legs, but still fully functional.

If you are a Food Network fan (I’m a newbie myself) you might be into the addictive show called Chopped. In it, renowned chefs battle to beat one another—and the clock—by creating an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert out of specific ingredients they are all given in a short time frame. Some weird ingredients include peanut butter, cinnamon candies, sardines, and plenty of other curve balls. It’s a lot of fun to watch—and oddly addictive.
