Great new Netflix streaming movies

I can’t believe that March is more than halfway over, and I have yet to discuss some of the great new Netflix streaming movies this month. Truth: I’ve been a little bit too busy with work, and instead of my usual late-night Netflix binges, I’ve been basically passing out each night in my comfy chair. We’ve all been there. It’s just a phase, and I have no doubt I’ll be back in tip top movie watching form soon enough.

Former child star Shirley Temple Black has died at 85

Shirley Temple Black was arguably the most famous Hollywood child star ever. But Temple, who died on Monday night at age 85, was much more than that. Temple walked away from the acting business when she was just 22 years old. Sure, the popularity she’d enjoyed as the star of countless films during the mid to late 1930s was waning a bit, but she decided to just get out for a time, instead of pursuing her adult acting career. She did star in a few things here and there, but eventually, she got on an entirely new career path.

Saybrook Point Inn & Spa

Just a short drive south and west of the city of Boston is a beautiful little place on the Connecticut coast and a great accommodation known as Saybrook Point Inn and Spa.  This beautiful inn is decorated in a style that is classy as opposed to opulent, giving it the perfect feel for a weekend out at the shore.  You can easily explore the surrounding town from here or just stick around the inn and enjoy the comfort of their spa.  One thing is for sure, couples will find this to be a truly enchanting and romantic place.  Has

Brittney Griner in the NBA?

Imagine this: Next year in the middle of the NBA draft, maybe in the much later rounds, a name you didn't expect gets called. Though this athlete has the most all-time blocks in NCAA Basketball history, and has 18 more dunks than the closest competition, the name isn't one you would expect to hear in the NBA. This athlete is none other than Baylor’s Brittney Griner, whose NCAA basketball career ended this past weekend in Baylor’s untimely upset.

Colorado passes civil unions

As a proud Coloradan, I’m happy to announce that this past week, Colorado passed a law allowing civil unions between same-sex couples. Having passed hateful legislations in the 90s that allowed employers to discriminate based on personal choices, traits and characterizes, this marks a huge push for equality in Colorado. This, along with the passing of a bill that legalized marijuana, is a huge push for our swing state to become a permanent blue.

Get ready for a new look

These past two seasons have seen a massive relocation of schools and conferences. With the Pac-10 becoming the Pac-12 (or 13), and the Big-12 now becoming the Big-10, which is not the Big East, things are getting a bit confusing. While the previous change of schools was more dependent on football, NCAA basketball powerhouse conference the Big East is starting to make a splash for next season.
