Chile’s magnificent Marble Caves

Caves are, by their very nature, some of the most mysterious and beautiful places beneath the surface of the planet Earth.  One such cave system, one uniquely interesting, is the MarbleCaves of Chile Chico. These caves carve their way through a giant chunk of marble located on the edge of a lake and create a sight that is a wonder to behold.  Though you can’t explore these caves on foot (they are, after all, filled with water), they are still worth a trip if cave exploration is your thing.

M's HIT tool ranks 70 so far

.

In terms of bases gained and bases lost, the M's deserve to be 3-and-3.  They've faced two contenders, on the road.  Back away from the ledge, kiddies.  The first six games have gone very well for a young team in search of an identity.

..............

Bill James once said, "baseball is about the strike zone."  The Mariners' batting average isn't yet best in the league, but if this keeps up, it soon will be ....

Has it seemed to you like the M's are seeing the ball well?  F/X backs up our suspicions.

Friday Fun: Things to do with rocks, pipes and gutters

Here are some fun things to do this weekend or the week ahead:

Play at Home Mom has several fun ideas to use with pipes and gutters. We made a water wall in our yard with old cups in a similar fashion, so if you don’t have any piping try cutting holes out of cheap cups and angling them at one another.

Trust and honesty do still exist

I feel like there currently isn't a lot of trust between people in the United States. For most of us, whenever we leave our house, car or anything with a lock, we make sure that the lock is firmly in place. When in a public place, if we get up for even a second, we pack up all our belongings so we don’t leave anything for anyone to snatch.

The madness is almost over

March may come in like a lion and leave like a lamb in regards to weather, but if you are a sports fan, this isn't true at all. The last days of March, and the first days of April, are some of the most exciting days in sports thanks to the NCAA March Madness tournament. Each year for one month, college hoops takes the center stage. With the playoff system being one giant, hectic, beautiful, single-elimination spectacle, sports fans are on the edge of their seats until the final shot on the second Monday in April.

The fine line "Dry" walks

Augusten Burroughs' 2003 memoir Dry (now bound for the Showtime network) walks a fine line between fact and fiction.  Though excellently written in a strong first-person style, he takes pains to note that he has changed names, combined characters and compressed and re-created events. His candor is admirable, but his disclaimer gives me pause. How much is true and how much is fiction?
