Exploring the Strange and Unusual in LA

Los Angeles is a city of many delights and for those that crave a taste of something different, it could very well be compared to paradise. If you want something unusual to do with that someone special, it’s easy to find a place that will be both unique and entertaining. Try a meal at Palms Thai, a great restaurant that features a serenading, miniature Elvis impersonator. Take in a movie at the Electric Dusk Drive-In, an old-school movie-viewing experience located on the top of a building.

"Dumb Starbucks" faux cafe opens

Over the weekend, Comedy Central prankster Nathan Fielder opened up a Starbucks lookalike café in Los Angeles, complete with the store’s logo and color scheme. Fielder called his store “Dumb Starbucks,” and contends that his use of the Starbucks logo is thus covered by the fair use rules of American copyright law.

Funny if true, but Starbucks’ real lawyers are poring over the legal documents as we speak. Hope it works out for him!
