Mile High sports madness

Ah, breath it in. That cool, crisp Rocky Mountain air is good for the soul. Though the lack of oxygen may leave you breathing heavily for a first visit, training here will give you an edge up on all of your competitors. While the weather may change four times a day, what will always remain the same is Colorado's love for sports and activity. Ullr must have forgotten when the season starts

It is no secret that Colorado weather is mercurial. One day it may be high 70s and sunny, while that night the weather transforms into epic snow for the upcoming day. This can happen basically any month of the year. With weather being unpredictable, deciding whether or not to buy a ski pass can always be a struggle. While most Coloradans buy a pass regardless, and stick to their ski schedule until the bitter end, sometimes the decision can bite you in the ass.

Get your run on at your weakest moment

As much as you enjoy and identify with running, admittedly there are some days when the last thing you want to do is run. Sometimes you need a little motivation and inspiration to get you going. A bag of running tricks below!

The best (and worst) places to read a book in summer

Wintertime reading is easy: You want to be on the couch or in your favorite reading chair, perhaps snuggled up with a pet, a blanket, a cup of coffee, or all of the above. But summer is nearly here, and when the weather gets nice, it's hard to resist the siren call of the great outdoors. Alternatively, when it gets too hot to read in the house, you may start hunting for some freely available air conditioning!

Gardening to end world hunger

It’s spring and no matter what the weather's like, the natural world is waking up. For many of us that also means it’s time to plant.

If you live in an urban area it could be as simple as purchasing a little planter for the window sill. Others are busy outdoors with mulch and seeds, but not everyone has that much space. Whatever season, ambitious urban gardeners can create vertical and hydroponic gardens year round.

Imagine the delight in eating your own organic salad grown indoors in a few months.

Why bother to travel?

It’s National Travel Week and that’s got me wondering: Why do we love to travel?

There’s as many reasons as there are travelers. It’s in our DNA from ancient ancestors walking across icy straits in search of what? Probably food and perhaps warmer weather. Today the same could be said as exotic recipes are a lure for foodies and who doesn’t love a warm, tropical vacation?
