Great St. Louis First Date Destinations

Picking a great first date spot is essential to making a good first impression with someone new. When you can’t think of anything or just don’t know what the other person would prefer, try one of St. Louis’ popular destinations. If you’re in the mood for some music, Jazz at the Bistro or Evangeline’s Bistro and Music House are two well-loved establishments. For a classic dinner date with a twist, try some exotic food at a restaurant such as Aya Sofia, Kobe Steakhouse or Meskerem.

Little Passports: China

Poor Wood Sprite took her eraser collection to Girl Scouts tonight for her show and tell time and completely forgot the bean bun eraser she loves so much at home! It was actually my own fault; I had packed it back into her Little Passports luggage box, pictured here, before we left. Each month Sprite receives a new package in the mail from another country through the subscription, and the little souvenirs are her favorite part.

New on DVD this week: 'The Hangover Part III' and 'After Earth'

Ah, don't you just love fall? I love it for all sorts of reasons: pumpkin spice everything, football and DVD releases. Yes, thankfully this is the season when a lot of summer movies I missed finally make their Blu-ray and DVD debuts. This week we've got a nifty crop of offerings, including a couple of films that I avoided in the theater but I will absolutely watch from the comfort of my own couch.

What's new on DVD this week?

Finally, after what seems like weeks stuck in a wasteland of new DVD releases, we've hit the jackpot. Several new major films are new on Blu-ray and DVD this week, including one of the biggest grossing films worldwide of 2013: Brad Pitt's zombie movie World War Z. If you missed this one in theaters, here's your chance to finally see it for yourself and decide what all the fuss is about.

Cannes 2013: Which films could be future blockbusters?

It's that time of year again: The Cannes International Film Festival is happening right now in the south of France. For those of us who are currently in decidedly less glamorous locales, we can at least take heart that it's raining cats and dogs on all the festival-goers. No, I'm not bitter. I just have a serious case of wanderlust.
