KG

I love the mariners, however is KG only there to sell tickets?. I was working in Seattle when he left and as I remember there were many fans who were not too happy with him. The word that was passed around some of the talk radio shows was he was a "happy guy" only when there was a tv camera in front of him. I remember a guy calling in relating that after battling practice the guys young son asked for a autograph as KG was walking by ( no tv cameras around) and was told by KG to [take a hike]. just what does he offer considering that he can't run, play defense, nor hit anymore? Sell tickets  sure!! Help take the"Ms" into the play offs? I doubt it.

You're definitely not alone in your take on Griffey.  A couple of Klat posting guidelines:
1.  No profanity, with or without a couple of letters removed
2.  If you're going to offer an opinion, it's better to sign it
3.  Don't be afraid to grammar-check if you're going to post on the front page
4.  3rd- and 4th-hand anecdotes and accusations aren't the best way to go ("this guy called into a radio show in '98 and said...")
..............
As far as the substance:  in Griffey's first incarnation with the M's, in the 90's, the rep he had was that the clubhouse was way up, or way down, depending on Griffey's mood swings.  This is a bit different than the 'mugging for the cameras' characterization you've heard.  His mood swings were reportedly not a put-on, but part of his personality at the time.
This time around there is no question about his clubhouse demeanor.
..............
One thing he brings in 2010, according to insiders, is Milton Bradley:  word is that MB literally would not be here unless Griffey were here also.  Junior being the only one who can face-up to MB and talk to him in a crisis.
Personally am hoping that, spotted in the right 300 or so AB's, he can SLG over .450 in Safeco.  With his BB's, the OBP is a given.
Could be wrong.  ... thanks for posting.
