<p>Billy Beane is famous for throwing stuff around and cursing when the Orcs' ball games are going poorly. (I wonder how that Mariners' sweep went over last week?). Just saying, temper tantrums from a GM is not a fatal flaw. Still, guys like that are hard to work with/for. The big thing is whether the tantrum alienates others or leads to dumb decisions. Can a tantrum be inspiring? Maybe. Dan Gable threw some fits as coach of the #Iowa Hawkeyes. He was a high strung guy with high standards for his team.
<p>Sooo.... because there was pool play involved, losing was the better option (it eliminated a harder team)... why is that just not just smart management? If Central #Iowa didn't want to be eliminated in that manner than they could have won every game and earned the right to throw a game to eliminate someone else! Instead Snohomish was punished, forced to play another game and lost... If you are in a tournament that uses pool play and you are undefeated why SHOULDN'T you use the advantage you EARNED by winning all the other games?
