For the pitching side, Juan Nieves was replaced by Carl Willis as Red Sox pitching coach mid-season, as their scapegoat, but he's well respected and also has coached with Bogar. Whether they'd take him as pitching coach or BP coach would be the question. Bob McClure is probably out of job in Philly, and might be a good choice for the pitching coach, having developed Greinke and Hamels among others. QC coach needs a smart young guy who's played and knows the nuances of the rules, is comfortable with the #Technology, and can assist the bench coach. I'd like to see the M's try Jack Marder. Having been both a catcher and infielder, he's familiar with the plays for the replay stuff, and his intelligence and leadership qualities were always praised. After retiring due to the concussions, he's apparently back at #Oregon finishing his degree and an assistant coach. He might be a good guy to try.
