Finding the right low-acid coffee

A lot of people have trouble with the acidity of most coffee. Black coffee has a pH of 5, less acid than tomato juice (pH of 4) but more acidic than plain water (pH of 7). Loving my new living room

This summer has been the worst for my family in a long, long time. My family had not three but four deaths—my husband just learned of another on his side over the weekend. I had a miscarriage, as did two close friends. I’ve had several dental issues, a tire blowout, a sick kid more often than usual and plenty of other tiny pieces that have added up to make it a really difficult season. I’m SO ready for fall and for some major positivity.

Pyongyang Restaurant

This week, instead of just finding one interesting restaurant, I’ve actually managed to find an entire chain. This is a series of restaurants opened by the North Korean government in places other than their own country. They are present throughout many countries in East Asia and are all named after the country’s capital, Pyongyang. The Pyongyang restaurants, for many, may be the closest they’ll ever be able to get to having a look inside the DPRK.
