Welcome to the Team
T-Birds sign on Bryan Allbee

The Seattle Thunderbirds are welcoming another player among their ranks this week, announced just this Monday. Say hello to Bryan Allbee, formerly of Kootenay Ice. The defenseman was exchanged for a fifth round pick during the 2017 Bantam Draft and wears the number 6 jersey. Albee, who shoots left, stands at 6’0 and weighs 180 pounds. He was born on July 11, 1997 in Prince George, BC.

Allbee has played a total of 88 regular games with Kootenay. He made a total of 7 goals and 10 assists for a total of 17 points and 34 penalty minutes. Allbee played in seven playoff games with the Ice, scoring no points during those.

Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell had positive things to say about acquiring Allbee. “Allbee brings us WHL experience and adds to our team as a puck moving defenseman. He has played a lot of power play in the past and is a good addition to our group on defense.” The Birds have already added Allbee onto their online list of players along with several other new faces.

Fans who want to get to know Allbee can check out his Facebook page where he has hockey photos as well as photos of himself scuba diving and being active in other ways. Allbee’s school is Prince George Secondary School and his friends and family seem very supportive of his career, one asking him, “When is the next autograph signing?”  Fans can also keep up with the defenseman on his Twitter page, where he shares many fun bits of news, photos, memes and other entertainment. On the page, he expressed his enthusiasm about joining the T-Birds. In addition to saying how excited he is to be a part of the thunder, he also said, “Thank you to the WHL Kootenay Ice for everything, best billets anyone could ask for.” Hopefully Allbee’s excitement continues while he plays for the Birds. Seattle will surely welcome him with open arms.

In addition to trade of Allbee, the Ice also acquired Ryan Pouliot from Red Deer as a new defenseman. There are trades being made left and right in the WHL right now and it will be interesting to see how they play out for the rest of the season.
