Top 10 Dept: Bloomie as Field Manager
Looking tastier after every "Quit Shot"

.

TOP TEN REASONS TO MAKE BLOOMIE THE NEXT MANAGER

10.  He definitely won't complain, criticize, or level accusations at anybody for making the move

9.  Inside Pitch said that Willie Bloomquist is like the smartest guy in O.B. (yes, really)

8.  Backup middle infielders and catchers are like 78.3% of all good managers (they don't try to justify "their style of player")

7.  You never know who's Bruce Bochy until you try

6.  He won't be playing Kyle Seager's position any more  6b.  He won't be playing any position any more  6c.  Nominations for #25 roster slot would be 7 names long

5.  Willie may have some vague idea of the ballclub's strengths and weaknesses (Mac "took a year" to learn what people could do)

4.  He may not be inclined to growl at Taijuan Walker after a loss

4b.  He may not be inclined to say anything to people of Taijuan Walker's size

3.  GREAT look for managing  (Very few HOF managers are GQ-centerfoldable, but Melvin types who stand up all game have auto buy-in)

2.  "Johnny, do you LIKE playing golf?"  I say we go out and have fun (Willie would have zero political capital to say anything else)

1.  Let's not rule out Willie For Mt. Rushmore just yet

Add yer own,

And there's room for more!!

Something's amiss with us.  I don't know what it is.  It isn't necessarily getting better.  We didn't get routed yesterday because of The Skip.  But we're not winning a bunch of games where his magic wand stands out.

Good teams win a few games, more than a few, where their skipper is the Player-of-the-Game.

I thought we would have made a managerial move 10 days ago.  At some point, minus us starting a 9-game streak soon (winning streak, of course),such a move will occur.

Let's just do it now.

Reason 1B: The Skip has finished 6th, 4th, 4th, 5th, 6th, 3rd and is now 4th again.   He's a nice man.  He's probably a heck of a hitting coach.  It is unlikley that he's a big-time winning MLB manager.

Y'all would seriously take Willie Bloomquist over a guy like Wally Backman? That's just bizarre to me. Not that I would be letting Jack pick another manager regardless. But Pat Listach is managing 40 minutes south of Safeco if you have to make a move just to make a move.

I don't think anybody's "making a move just to make a move" ... in fact none of us are making any moves, period :- )

Personally am not fast to change managers.  And am not sure McClendon needs to be replaced.  But some seismo's are worth discussion to me.

I don't think Lloyd is the problem, or the answer.

However, if Jack is not making the next choice on a manger, then there is no way to justify or even think about allowing Howard and the new Armstrong getting to choose the next GM either. They are all tied together as far as I am concerned, and all are probably coming back next year regardless of this year's results... not that I get a vote.
