With nearly 5000 miles of paths criss-crossing the Valais, this region of Switzerland is perfect for a couple that wants a serious hiking vacation.  The paths are all marked as well, so it’s easy to plan out a route and get from place to place.  Difficulty ranges from beginner to truly challenging, letting you choose just how much effort you want to put in.  Wherever you decide to hike, one thing is for certain - you’ll be spellbound by the amazing alpine landscape.  As you hike your way along, make sure to stop off at the villages and towns between trails and experience the culture of the country (and maybe have a bit of a rest as well).  Has anyone been to Switzerland before?  Did you get any hiking in while there?
