Located just off the coastal tip of Texas and at the Gulf of Mexico, South Padre Island is a true resort town.  This long strip of land is wall-to-wall resorts and attractions and in its zeal to be laid back the city actually passed a law that bans wearing ties on the island.  While visiting, enjoy the beaches, fishing, boating, parasailing and countless other water activities.  Go dolphin watching or head into town for some fine dining and shopping and, once the lights go out, hit up the night spots and go dancing.  There are plenty of places to stay, both standard and luxurious, so it’s easy to grab your loved one and make a weekend trip of it.  Does anyone have any favorite spots on South Padre Island?
