Strange and Exotic Events Watch - December Week Two

Want to try something a little bit different? Lucky for you, NYC is big enough that all sorts of unique and unusual things are happening all throughout the year. Here are a few taking place this week.

Blessing of the Animals - ChristChurch - Dec 7th

Well here’s something you don’t see every day - a priest (and a rabbi) blessing pets. But that’s what this event is all about. Everything from small critters to farm animals will be coming to church this day to get their blessings. Why, you may ask? Just because. So whether you have a pet that needs a blessing or just want to watch the show, it’s a very unique thing to see.

Unsilent Night - WashingtonSquarePark - Dec 13th

This unusual event takes a piece of music and spreads it throughout the streets of New York via the city’s residents. Everyone gathers together, each carrying something that can play the music. Then they all press play at once and begin to wander. The end result is said to be mesmerizing. So head down to the park to listen or go to their website, get your own bit of music and be a participant in this event.
