Shadow of Mordor free DLC grants players a female character

Yay!

Like many video games, Shadow of Mordor launched without the ability for players to choose a female character. Thankfully, Warner Brothers and Monolith have (somewhat) addressed this issue in the most recent free DLC, which includes the ability to play as Lithariel, daughter of the queen and warrior commander.

I say "somewhat" because Lithariel is not actually a new character. Instead, she is basically a reskin of the existing (male) character Talion. Lithariel doesn't bring any new skills or attacks to the table. But for those of us who prefer to play as female characters, this is definitely cause to rejoice.

Other features of the free DLC patch include a new Epic Rune which gives you another Last Chance after you die. The update was released for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The new DLC is not available for older consoles.
