Sims Social Vespertine Cocktail Bar Challenge
When you play the Sims Social game on Facebook, you are constantly being barraged with the game's prompts to start various quest chains. But in the case of the Vespertine Cocktail Bar, you really should give this one a shot!
If you finish the entire quest chain, you get a cylindrical fish tank. Pretty, and a nice item of 1980s décor, right? But get this: every hour the fishtank drops stuff - energy points, random Crafting ingredients, Social points, and more! If there was ever a quest to undertake, it's this one!
The first thing you have to do is buy the Vespertine (a word that means "occurring in the evening," similar to "nocturnal") cocktail bar. It costs $1,500 Simoleons, but it adds a surprising $1,550 value to your house. (Most items that cost Simoleons lose value with the conversion to house value!)
As of this writing, there are 8 days left to complete the quest chain. You have to level up at the art of making drinks. There are ten levels, and mastering them means acquiring some very difficult items.
First of all, this solves the mystery of what those "Spoonfuls of Sugar" were for. The spoonfuls began dropping a few weeks ago during friendly interactions with other Sims. These are crafting ingredients which are necessary to level up on the quest chain.
Other ingredients I have encountered so far are the usual Love, Relaxation, Peace, and so forth. However, one difficult has become fiendishly difficult for many players to obtain: Lemon Slice. The problem with this ingredient is that you can't ask friends for it, you have to find them yourself!
You can get Lemon Slice by performing friendly interactions with other Sims. But it drops very randomly. Some people have reported doing 20 friendly interactions without getting a single slice. I got one this morning after only three friendly interactions with Bella.
As if to acknowledge this difficulty, The Sims Social is offering free Lemon Slice for a limited time, click here to claim it. (Note: this link will probably stop working within 24-48 hours.)
Incidentally, I highly recommend subscribing to the RSS feed for The Sims Social Fansite, because they always post these freebies as soon as they are released. It's an invaluable feed, for Sims Social players!
Have you completed this quest yet? I still have five more levels to go! I'm afraid I will get impatient and resort to using SimCash for some of the ingredients.
