Given Miami's problems with infielders, it occurs to my conspiracy-theory side that maybe Sardinas was acquired to package with Elias as a utility-type-late-inning-defense infielder for the NL Marlins, who can afford the roster spot. Actually, that makes more sense than the Ms wanting him in front of Taylor and O'Malley.
