The islands of Hawaii are known for many amazing festivals throughout the year. For those living closer to Honolulu, here are a couple of good choices that are within a close distance.

Mele Mei - Various locations - Though May 31^st

This festival is a month-long celebration devoted to the unique music and culture of Hawaii. Events take place all-throughout the state, so it’s easy to find something happening nearby. Better yet, people come from all over the world to attend, so you never know just who you might end up meeting.

Hawaii Book and Music Festival - Frank F. Fasi Civic Grounds - May 2^nd & 3^rd

Another Hawaiian cultural event, this one focuses on the literature and music of the islands. You’ll find a variety of new works of art to discover as well as many cultural activities to take part in. Best of all, this is an event focused on raising awareness within the community, so your money goes to help all sorts of charitable projects.
