The city of New Orleans is a place of many and varied distractions. And while this certainly isn’t a bad thing, it can sometimes be so much better to just get away for a little while. If you’re out on a date and want to try something other than the bright lights and big city attractions, check out one of the many nearby natural places. BayouSegnetteState Park is just a stone’s throw from the heart of the city and provides the opportunity to experience many outdoor activities, from hiking to swimming to having a nice picnic. The Riverwalk, while it may be very urban, is still a refreshing break for those that wish to stroll along the Mississippi. Or head way out and make a day of it at JeanLafitteNational Park, a wonderful mix of open spaces and interesting historic landmarks.
