Meanwhile, games were going on ...
AAA -- Tacoma 11, Las Vegas 0 -- Box
E-RAM The Electric Supercharger! He's back; he's electric; he's supercharged!
More Air! More Fuel! More Power! More Erasmo Ramirez: 7.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K!
Well, that's good to see. Let's get the MLB rotation supercharged pretty soon. Saunders/Harang/Bonderman/Cast of Thousands ... bah, humbug.
Offense:
- Brad Miller (Talk40 #6): three-run homer (his ninth overall), single ... SLG .505
-
Mike Zunino (Talk40 #1): finally getting hits in Cheney Stadium! ... double, two singles ... SLG .517
-
Rich Poythress (26intheMix): making the most of his chance ... double, two singles, walk ... OPS .860
AA -- Chattanooga 3, Jackson 1 -- Box
When e-RAM goes back to Seattle to supercharge the rotation, that ought to open up a spot for Walker, Seattle Mariner NOT Texas Ranger!
Taijuan Walker (Talk40 #2): 7.1 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 9 K
Only damage was a solo homer. You think he's proven all he can prove at AA? You think?
Unlike e-RAM, Walker got no help from his offense (0 XBH, 10 K), and his bullpen coughed up the two losing runs in the 9th.
High-A -- Inland Empire 12, High Desert 1 -- Box
So the steak of strong starting performances ends in California. No surprise there. But too bad for Trevor Miller (26intheMix), who, despite his Golden State roots, has not adapted very well to the pro league based there: 4.2 IP, 11 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 5 K.
But the pinball was one-sided in this affair. No XBH for the Mavs as they go quietly.
Low-A -- Clinton 10, Wisconsin 5 -- Box
The LumberKings weren't lacking for lumber, though. And the most regal L-King of them all this year has been Jabari Henry (26intheMix). Hammerin' Henry had two doubles and a single, and is now at .328/.433/.527.
And the offensive suprises continue from Ketel Marte (26intheMix), who got two more hits and has 14 in his last 10 games. Obviously, he's a guy they like or he wouldn't be in Clinton at 19. But he's never going to be an offensive guy.
Jordy Lara, also had two doubles and a single.
Looking Ahead
Brandon Maurer (Talk40 #9) is slated for another go-around for Tacoma. And the season debut of the pride of Ewa Beach, Charles Kaalekahi (26intheMix) is set for Clinton.
