There are many places to go and many sights to see when visiting Hawaii, but one small town that couples should consider when taking a journey to the islands is Lahaina on the island of Maui.  This former capital of Hawaii offers up all the activities and luxury resorts you could hope for while avoiding some of the worst of the tourist crowds.  In addition to the beautiful beaches, scuba diving and lively nightlife that you can find almost everywhere, Lahaina is also a cultural center, giving you the opportunity to see some of the history of the islands.  And if you show up during the right time of year, you can head out on a whale watching tour or experience one of their festivals.  Has anyone stayed in Lahaina before?  How does it compare to other Hawaii destinations?
