Gordon... Nice job, as usual.
There are a few guys coming worth talking about, but I do completely agree that NONE of the guys I am bringing up have any value TODAY.
The Shortstops:
Gabe Noriega (age 24) - after years of being a defensive stalwart, Gabe decided to start hitting last year - at both the AA and AAA levels. It was only one year, and I believe he is now out of options... but if Gabe can come close to hitting 300/340/410 he hit before September in 2015... he won't be in the minors too long
Tyler Smith (age 23) - YES I am a fan... 2 years in minors, and he is already at AA. Starter at Oregon State. 1st year in Minors, Tyler was Appy League player of the year. Year two, starts in High Desert, and finishes last 20 games in Jackson. Tyler's career numbers 294/387/433... not quite Miller numbers but...
Jack Reinheimer (age 22) - Also 2 years in minors only. Another defensive whizz, that just keeps hitting. First year in Everett, than last year Clinton and 20 games in the High Desert and he hit 276/338/355 with 39 stolen bases. Looks like another Chris Taylor in the making...
The other "slugger" who just showed up:
Jordy Lara (age 23) - signed out of the Dominican Republic in 2009. Another 3B turned 1B and just starting to try OF. in 2013 playing at Clinton and High Desert, Jordy hit a pedestrian 268/320/448... but last year, playing at High Desert and 33 games in AA, an astounding 337/392/581 for an OPS of 973... which was nearly equivalent as DJ Petersen and they played together nearly all year. Again, is he a one year wonder?? Or another DJ? And definitely another Right handed power bat.
