As a center of culture in the US (and the world), NYC has a lot to offer in the way of entertainment. One thing that people may overlook is the variety of excellent dance performances that take place every year. Here is a short list of what’s going on in dance this week.
Ballet Flamenco Sara Baras - New York CityCenter - March 4th through March 7th
In Spain, she’s known as the queen of flamenco and now Sara Baras and her group of performers are coming to New York to show off their brilliant style of dance for four days. If you’re a fan of this beautiful dance, then there is no one better to watch than Baras.
The Legend of Mulan - David H Koch Theater - March 5th through March 8th
It’s the first time that the Hong Kong Dance Company has ever done this performance outside of China, so this is a unique opportunity for those that love dance. Witness the tale of a young girl in ancient China as she disguises herself as a man in order to prevent her father from being conscripted into the army.
