Titled Rivershack Tavern because of its place right at the edge of the Mississippi River, this Jefferson gem is a just a stone’s throw from the bigger party city of New Orleans.  For those that want to get away from the chaos that is the city, this is a good alternative.  At its heart, Rivershack is a dive bar, but they accompany their drinks with some great food and are truly a step above the typical hole-in-the-wall.  While there, you can play some pool, throw some darts, watch the game or listen to some live music.  For a casual night out having a few drinks and a lot of fun, check this place out.  Has anyone explored the Rivershack Tavern before?  How does it compare to the New Orleans nightlife?
