Will the Ms sweep the hapless Indians and reclaim their manhood? Who can say. What we can say with some certainty is that Happ is a better pitcher right now than Walker and Marcum is definitely not as good a pitcher as Bauer. So there's that.
Shouts
Would the columns of shouts be better off splitting at a new day rather than whenever someone decides to start a new one? #gnatto #seattlesportsinsider.com<div class="indented">Reply - mickiholley - 10/4/15 6:53am<br>seems that some of the convos are so long and then the system starts to lag (at least for me) the shorter convos are easier to navigate.</div>
I can't agree with you more DaddyO. The greatest let-down in recent memory. #Tuner #SSI
Of all the disappointing seasons since 2001, given the expectations and the context, this is perhaps the most disappointing season of all. #DaddyO #SSI<div class="indented">Reply - mickiholley - 10/4/15 6:54am<br>it looked very bleak for a long time!</div>
That's quite possibly possibly the worst 3-3 road trip I've ever seen. - Silentpadna #SSI<div class="indented">Reply - mickiholley - 10/4/15 6:56am<br>if not the worst then it ranks pretty high up there</div>
It literally does not matter who replaces McClendon and Zduriencik. They could be the perfect melding of Ghandi, Billy Martin, and Albert Einstein and they'll still lose. #SABR_Matt #SSI<div class="indented">Reply - mickiholley - 10/4/15 2:50pm<br>without the basic understanding of what is going wrong (and does anyone really know?) they will continue to flounder...no matter who is playing</div>
And the reason I say that...I don't think the GM is the real problem. The problem is systemic and unsolvable. #SABR_Matt #SSI<div class="indented">Reply - mickiholley - 10/4/15 6:57am<br>you can keep rotating GMs and Managers until the end of time, but if there are problems within the system that have not been addressed, it will be the same old song and dance</div>
And if Z is dead man walking, who here has great confidence that current executive management (meaning #Lincoln at the top) would hire a replacement that does much better? #DaddyO #SSI
Changes will be coming pretty soon. If you've seen Lloyd's post-game interviews lately, his demeanor is different. He's feeling the pressure and knows he's in a no-win situation. The team is fundamentally flawed. - GLS #SSI<div class="indented">Reply - mickiholley - 10/4/15 2:54pm<br>unless it is a major overhaul, small changes will not help</div>
Felix, Happ and Elias combine for 6 1/3 innings in #Houston. #MtGrizzly #SSI
If I as a fan were at that meeting, I would raise my hand and ask, "So if you as a manager don't get the #Job done, if Jack as a GM doesn't get the #Job done, and most importaly, if Howard as the figurehead of the franchise doesn't get the #Job done, and in the case of #Lincoln the failure to get the #Job done has extended well over a decade, will we get people in THOSE positions who get the #Job done?" #DaddyO #SSI<div class="indented">Reply - mickiholley - 10/4/15 7:02am<br>good question and then they would dance around the question until we are all tired of watching the go in circles and they move on to the next question</div>
True enough, Griz. My concern runs deeper than that. The entire threat is at it's core fundamentally flawed. They can bring in new players. But the organization has shown itself incapable of bringing in players who over the course of time get the #Job done. That is true if you define "get the #Job done" as playing wining baseball, making the playoffs, and sometimes succeeding in the playoffs." #DaddyO #SSI<div class="indented">Reply - mickiholley - 10/4/15 7:03am<br>the organization does need a major overhaul, the sad thing about that is that it will take years for them to re-build into a truly consistent team that will be a contender.</div>
Right. Who was he talking about? Cano? 'Cause that is an idle threat. Zunino? No viable internal options + severe lack of catching in the game make that a real tough position to upgrade. Ackley? I guess there are some options there. #MtGrizzly #SSI
Reportedly McClendon in a team meeting told them, among other things, that if they can't get the #Job done they will find someone who will. It's a good, standard kind of management line, but any fool who steps back and looks at the last decade plus would have to ask the obvious question: "When in the last ten plus years has this team demonstrated the ability to find players who can get the #Job done? What makes you think on this sinking ship that suddenly you can do so?" #DaddyO #SSI<div class="indented">Reply - mickiholley - 10/4/15 7:06am<br>Abandon Ship!!! But seriously, there needs to be major changes but they seem more interested in a quick fix rather than a long-term solution!!</div>
If Lloyd McClendon ends up getting fired, then Jack Zduriencik will have proven that either he is incompetent at roster building, or he is incompetent at hiring managers. Wakamatsu (1-1/2 years), Wedge (3 years), McClendon (1-1/2 years). Of course, BIll Bavasi had the same problem: Melvin (2 years), Hargrove (2-1/2 years), McLaren (2 partial seasons). This in turn will have proven upper management's incompetence at hiring GM's. #DaddyO #SSI<div class="indented">Reply - mickiholley - 10/4/15 7:08am<br>or he is just plain incompetent and unable to handle anything!</div>
Gawd this game is boring! - GLS #SSI
A three run deficit must look like Everest to M's hitters. #MtGrizzly #SSI
Ya Grizz, I think even from Jack Z's perspective, Weeks and Ruggiano were spaghetti-against-the-wall. Like Denorfia :- ) Surprising to me that Ruggiano cleared waivers, though. Any possibility this was a finesse of timing on the M's part? - Dr D #jemanji #seattlesportsinsider.com
Interesting Doc article. I expect there'll be big changes soon. I'm not sure if Lloyd goes first or Zduriencik, but both are likely gone. If there's another long losing streak, that'll probably do it for both of them. - GLS #SSI
Funny. Coming out of ST, we were excited about the depth w/the veteran bench and worried about the depth of the rotation. Turns out, the rotation depth was fine and both of the veteran bench imports have been DFA'd. #MtGrizzly #SSI
And here I thought *I* was the curse...but I missed last night and then I caught today...so it can't be me. #SABR_Matt #SSI
That's it...someone who lives near him...go break his computer and TV #SABR_Matt #SSI
Figures. I was asleep for the game the M's bust out offensively. After I woke up, I didn't even know the game was on until I started the car to go somewhere. The M's should pay me to miss games. #DaddyO #SSI<div class="indented">Reply - mickiholley - 10/4/15 2:56pm<br>that is funny...makes you think your karma may be a little off...</div>
Remember when everyone thought we had no rotation depth? :D #SABR_Matt #SSI<div class="indented">Reply - mickiholley - 10/4/15 2:57pm<br>you mean we actually do??</div>
Beetter be Gutierrez or I'll have to make some calls to my friends in the illuminati...errr....I'll be mad. You didn't hear that. #SABR_Matt #SSI
Boom sticks today! Get rid of Weeks and we start whacking! #Montgomery just figures out how not to allow runs. Who gets the call up to replace Weeks in the next few days? #moethedog #seattlesportsinsider.com
Between him and Elias, there's quite a bit of mojo working at the back of our rotation. #G_Money #SSI
Monty got out of it. Well done. For a guy who relies so much on his 91 MPH fastball he sure knows when the pull the string on a change or change eye level with the curve. #G_Money #SSI
