You might know her well from the Phoenix Mercury, but Tiffany Bias is now a member of the Seattle Storm. Welcome to Seattle! The third-year guard is a tenacious player who won the 2014 WNBA title with the Mercury during her rookie year, and she averages 1.4 points in 5.1 minutes per game. She stands at 5’8 and was the 17th overall draft pick by Phoenix in the 2014 WNBA Draft.

Could Bias have known that she was destined to play for Seattle when she played against the team for the preseason opener just days ago? Right after the game, the Mercury put her on waivers and Seattle signed her on. You have to wonder what she was thinking when that happened. Hopefully she will be happy playing for Seattle, especially when they are up against the Mercury again in the future. She will be battling Blake Dietrich for the spot on the team and we wish both players good luck.

Bias is from Wichita, Kansas and she went to college at Oklahoma State University. While playing for the college, she made two NCAA Tournament appearances. She is known for a few notable records made, including the third most assists in Big 12 Conference history. She also made 229 assists as a sophomore, which was a record at Oklahoma State. Bias has been nominated for several awards as well. She was a Nancy Lieberman Award finalist in 2013-14. While attending university she was also a two-time AP All-America honorable mention.

Born on May 22, 1992, Bias weighs 133 pounds. She was both a business major in college and the Gatorade Kansas Girls Basketball Player of the Year as a high school senior. In addition to basketball, she played volleyball and ran track in high school, making her a very well-rounded, passionate athlete. She even won accolades in these sports, such as being a two-time state champion in the 200 meters and a three-time champion in the 400 meters competitions.

Bias’s parents are Francis and Judy Bias and she has three siblings, a sister and two brothers. On May 10, she posted a Tweet that simply read, “SEATTLE,” followed by two airplane emoticons. Before that, she advised her followers, “Positive vibes only this way.”
