Welcome Back, Crystal Langhorne
The forward returns to the Storm

It’s her ninth season with the WNBA and she’s choosing to spend it with the Seattle Storm once again. Crystal Langhorne is returning for her third season with Seattle and her fans are thrilled to have her back. In fact, fans took to social media exclaiming things like, “Yes!” and “Awesome!”  Langhorne, a forward, wears the #1 jersey on the team. Storm President and General Manager Alisha Valavanis says that the team is thrilled to have Langhorne back again and that her veteran status and on-court consistency makes her an invaluable member of this team.”

Langhorne was born on October 27, 1986. The forward is 6’2 and weighs 185 pounds. She has been playing pro for eight years and attended college at the University of Maryland. Her career average is 12.7 points per game. Her field goal percentage from the floor is 55.9% and her rebound average is 7.0 per game. Although she was drafted by the Washington Mystics in 2008, Langhorne has played with Seattle since 2014. In her draft year, she was chosen as the sixth overall draft pick. In 2009, she was awarded Most Improved Player, and she is a three-time WNBA All-Star.

Langhorne was known as the star of her college team, securing several records while attending the university. She was the first player in the college’s entire history to score 2,000 points. She was also the first player to get 1,000 rebounds, including both the men and women’s teams on campus. The college adored her so much that they retired her jersey when she graduated and displayed it for all to see when she played her final game at the university. A true force to be reckoned with, she also went All-American in high school, where she received MVP status.

Storm head coach Jenny Boucek also had high praise to share in regards to Langhorne’s return to the team.  She dubbed Langhorne one of the most “proficient and efficient players in the game,” and went on to say that, “She is a dynamic playmaker with a crafty and versatile skill-set. Her experience, intelligence and aptitude for high-level schemes make her a valuable leader in the post.” It is clear that both manager and coach were quite pleased with Langhorne’s return to the team—and for good reason.

Fans of Langhorne can keep up with her on Twitter, where she shares photos, videos and her latest news.
