The Smallest Sounders Fan
Tiny tot sings Dempsey song to go to sleep

If you are a Seattle Sounders fan, you know the drill. Clint Dempsey scores a goal and what do you sing (or scream)? "Deuce upside your head, Deuce upside your head,” of course. We had a great reason to sing that song over the weekend when the Sounders broke their line of losses to finally win their first game of the season. The win also happened to mark Dempsey’s first goal of the season, inciting a round of the song. Fans across the country enjoyed the celebration, but some were smaller than others.

Case in point: tiny fan Taylor Hackmeister, whose parents caught singing as she fell asleep after the game. Via their baby monitor they heard her singing—you guessed it!—Dempsey’s victory refrain as she dozed off. Now that is one true Sounders fan! Whether age three or 99, the Rave Green fever strikes all ages. Taylor’s dad called it a “proud dad moment” on Instagram and we don’t blame him.

The story is cute enough on its own, but after several news outlets—including Fox Soccer—picked up the story and ran it, the family was completely overjoyed. It turns out that the love of soccer runs in the family and both dad and Taylor were very excited to be featured as such fervent fans.

Speaking of Sounders in social media, did you catch Brad Evans’ Instagram post about recording his voice for the Seattle Foundation? He tried to pull fans’ legs by saying he was recording a new album but of course everyone knew he was kidding. Still, how fun to see him in a recording studio. The men on the team are always lending their support, whether it be monetary, their presence or their voices, to the causes that matter the most to them. Evans himself is a celebrated humanitarian, winning the Sounders’ award for that very role last year. Many also say that he’s the team’s most active member on social media, sharing photos and details more often than most players in MLS let alone the team! Fans particularly enjoy his photos of Coto, the team mascot dog.

Have you seen a fun piece of Sounders social media or a funny story regarding our favorite soccer team lately? Do you have your own personal Sounders story to share? If so, be sure to tell us about it in the comments. Be sure to link to any pics you have.
