SSI Slack Chat
Come for the gameday chats, stick around to talk shop

Let's start with this: Here is the updated SSI Slack Chat link that should never expire.

Right now it seems to be an easy way to have game chats and general conversation, some of which stimulates new articles and some of which NEVER should.  Everyone is welcome, and it's not hard to set up your login. You should just have to enter your email address, verify your email and be free to log in after creating a log-in ID.  You'll already have access to all the chat channels.

If you have any problems, please post them here.  The link may tell you it's not active but should re-set the second time you go to the link if that happens (usually only happens if you've done Slack before).  If something happens (like an Oakland bot-farm joins up or something) I'll switch the link and put it back here in the comments.

Glad to see people are still looking to join the conversation - we'll see you there soon, and then back here for more analysis.

You have anticipated me with the idea that Slack Chat should be helpful to SSI as a satellite site -- a chat site that helps SSI via bounce-back Mariners activity.  Very adroit on your part, being aware of a possible conflict-of-interest and offering your own opinion as to why there is none.

As "owner" of the Slack Chat, your own friendliness to SSI bounce-back traffic is helpful.  Muchas gracias.

My own opinion, since long before Mark's chat board TopSport? was it? is that Mariner traffic is NOT a zero-sum game, that Mariners fans ONCE ENGAGED run around hitting EVERY site they find worth their time.

....

Klat of course has the right to their own views on this, since the Shout Box is important to them, and I've got a few messages in to them asking for their endorsement.  Will let you know amigo.

The boss was fine with the community using SSI to promote Klat.  They even chuckled that Slack is a platform they use themselves.

They have changes coming re: the Shout Box and hope to lure the community back the old-fashioned way, by earning it.  +1
