Moves on the horizon in La Liga

It's August and we are less than 30 days away from the end of the transfer window. Real Madrid and Barcelona are always teams to watch come summer time, what with their endless surpluses of cash, title hungry fans and all-or-nothing philosophies.

However this summer Barça have remained quiet, making a couple low-key moves that are more frugal and splashy. Real Madrid as well, for the second summer in a row have remained uncharacteristically quiet, and this year are more likely to make headlines for their departures than their arrivals.

Last year at least club president Florentino Perez had his sights set on a big-ticket arrival in Manchester United goal keeper David de Gea. This year though, they don't even have so much as a rumor circulating about an arrival at that level, at least not with all signs pointing towards Paul Pogba going to Manchester United.

Although if your consider Austria starlet David Alaba a big name, Real are rumored to be set to make Bayern Munich a 65 million EUR offer to put him in a white shirt. In return, Bayern would be looking to get central defender Pepe back in return.

Madrid's starting XI are as good as they come, and it's hard seeing Alaba displacing anyone in the midfield or defense, therefore it seems a ridiculous amount to spend on a back up.

Speaking of departures, the Spanish media is making a big deal about the departure of Jesé Rodriguez as a deal is reported to be all but done between los blancos and Paris Saint-Germain. At this point the only thing that seems to be holding up the deal is the possibility of a buy back clause, similar to the deal that Perez struck when he sold Alvaro Morata to Juventus, only to buy him back two years laster for 30 million EUR. Right now it seems that 25 million may be the magic number that sees Jesé shipped to Paris.

The Spanish media have loved the Canarian striker from the get go, he was billed as the greatest graduate of La Fabrica, a homegrown Ronaldo. A rarity, a homegrown Spanish Real Madrid star, and a real madrista to boot. He swore allegiance to the club, even putting in a clause prohibiting Barcelona from signing him.

Alas, he ran into the obstacle many cantaneros run into once they join the first team, supreme talent. Karim Benzema was fully entrenched up top, and there was no way he was displacing an in-his-prime Cristiano Ronaldo.

Farewell Jesé, with Zlatan out at PSG, there's even more goals to be had for him and he could become the God in Paris he was supposed to be in Paris.
