Seattle Thunderbirds Win
Birds beat the Rockets once again

Fans across the Northwest region are cheering once again as the Seattle Thunderbirds won the third Western Conference Championship game against the Kelowna Rockets, putting them one step closer to that trophy. There were 5,878 fans celebrating at the game on Tuesday night when the Birds beat the Rockets with a score of 3-1. They could win this whole title in one more game if they win on Wednesday.

Byran Albee scored the first goal of the night as well as the only goal during the first period. Jerret Smith  and Nolan Volcan had the assists. Kelowna scored the only goal of the second period with a shot from Justin Kirkland and assists by Tyson Baillie and Cal Foote. The Birds destroyed the tie during the third period with another two goals, this time from Ethan Bear and Matthew Barzal. Barzal and Keegan Kolesar made the assists on the first goal. Landon Bow also had a great night, making 36 saves out of 37 shots. Although Kelowna outshot Seattle by four shots, Bow simply had a better night than Herringer. Although much of the game was a nail-biter, the fans went wild after the Birds put their last points on the board and won yet another game in a row.

Tickets for the next game against Kelowna are still on sale at the box office or online. The box office is open from 10 to 5 so be sure to grab your tickets for what could be the final game of the Western Conference Championship! You will definitely want to be there if the Birds win. The game will be at the ShoWare Center with the puck dropping at 7:05 PM. While this one won’t be a great deal like Tuesday’s game was (it was a 2 for Tuesday deal), it is a not to be missed game.
