Scheduling Issues with Sounders, Others
A comprehensive agreement has been made

If you have anything to say about Seattle aside from how beautiful the city is, how kind its people are and how delicious the food is, it’s bound to be how much the city loves its sports teams. From the Seattle Sounders to the Mariners, the Storm to the Seahawks, there is a sport here for everyone who ever picked up a bat or ball. We may not have an NHL team, but our Thunderbirds fans are pretty serious, too. Our fans take their sports seriously, so when you hear about scheduling issues you might start to worry.

It’s actually good news, though, that the Sounders, Seahawks and Mariners have come to an agreement about the development in the SODO neighborhood due to the sporting events in the area. The deal was struck between the Seattle City Council and Chris Hansen’s Seattle Arena investment group as well as First and Goal, the Seattle Public Facilities District and the Washington State Public Stadium Authority. The entire plan is revolving around game time estimates and afternoon events, but it also puts a stop to events at Hansen's arena between the hours of 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Hopefully this will remedy some of the traffic issues you’ve had getting to your game lately.

You really wouldn’t think it would take so much planning and city dollars spent on creating a simple schedule around everyone’s needs, but it is some major development that has been creating a huge impact on the community. Every game has come with the preface of heavy traffic, with officials warning fans to plan well ahead in order to make it to games on time.

Speaking of this weekends’ match, how do you think the Sounders will perform? Some are saying they need to get out of a slump while others say that they’re doing a great job. The truth likely lies somewhere in the middle, but if Morris continues to score a goal per match and the rest of the team is back from healing time (or red card time, depending on who you are), we are probably in for a great match. And while it’s true that the Earthquakes have come a long way since last season, Seattle is not some newbie expansion team. No matter how many rookies and youths we have this season, we are still Rave Green and ready to take any team on.
