Ronald McDonald House Visit
T-Bird video now available

You may have heard about the Seattle Thunderbirds working hard for the Ronald McDonald House of Western Washington & Alaska. Not only do they serve meals to people staying at the home while their children are in the hospital, but they also visit with the children themselves, playing games, joking around and helping the kids forget the scary day they have had or that awaits them, if even for a few minutes.

Now you can see the Birds in action at the charity event, where they served a meal prepared by Caveman Kitchen. Families who were staying at the House on January 26 were able to meet the team while they enjoyed the meal. You can see the boys serving dinner as well as playing with children, signing autographs and talking with the parents. They also appear to have seen a video about what the charity does for families, where they also learned about the types of illnesses that affect the children who stay there or whose parents stay there while they receive treatment in the hospital.

The kids in the video appear to have had a wonderful time with the Birds as they talked and played. Even a baby appeared to get a kick out of the players who gave him attention! Tomorrow, on February 27, the All-Star Game will occur at theShoWare Center. It will feature celebrities competing for the charity, another cool way that the T-Birds help give back to their community. The game will break down to Team Furness vs. Team Gibbons and feature many local celebrities as well as former Thunderbirds on the ice. Through the event, more than $4.5 million has been raised for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

If you are free Saturday, check out the game and support a great cause. If you can’t make the game, there are many other ways to help support the Ronald McDonald House charities, such as making snack boxes or meals for the families staying at the RMH, planning an activity night for the children with your team, group or company, taking care of a meal night and cooking food for the people staying at the house and many other opportunities. They also hold food drives and accept planned giving donations from members of the community. You can also help by raising funds or making donations to the RMH.
